Those who know me know I LOVE cats. But, there is one thing I love more than felines, and that is PUPPIES!
When I grew up, we owned a male and female Cockapoo that created litters of darling furballs twice a year. As a child and tween, these delightful animals were a major highlight of growing up. We often had five to eight puppies each litter. I used to lay down in the living room and let them maul me with their razor-sharp teeth and intoxicating puppy breath. It was pure bliss.
As an adult, when friends have puppies I do my best to pay a visit. I want to take pictures. I want to play. One friend lives in Pasadena and has baby Scotties now and then (OMG so cute!) The other friend lives in Woodland Hills and has Goldendoodles – the focus of this post. These pups resemble the Cockapoos I once cherished.
The Goldendoodle is an affectionate and gentle dog that has gained popularity since first developed in the 1990s. Still a young cross compared to other designer breeds, many of today’s litters are the results of first-generation breedings between Poodles and Golden Retrievers. As adult dogs, they are usually highly social and get along well with everyone.
I’ve had the joy of playing with two separate litters of these Golden Doodle pups. Each litter sported eleven kids! What a handful! What fun! Here is a video capturing the fun.
I love puppies!
