“Oh look – a cow!” I cooed to my boyfriend pointing to one grazing on a farm. “You remind me of a cow…” he responded, “…with those big brown eyes of yours.”
I was 17 years old, traveling across the country from California to Wisconsin with my mom and my then boyfriend. I vividly recall not liking his comment about me reminding him of a cow. However, that has never, ever deterred my intense love of cows, brown eyes and all. Anywhere, anytime, cows make me smile.
Is it any surprise they are one of my favorite photographic subjects?
