I didn’t set out to become such an enthusiast about photography and creating illustrations…

It grew out of needing images for various blogs and the creation of quotes images.  Now I contribute photographs and images on various sites, including Getty Images, Dreamstime, and Public Domain Pictures. 

Linnaea Mallette’s Photographs and Illustrations Today

I love photographs and illustrations because, as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.  I  find that words coupled with an image increase the impact of the words significantly.  However, getting images to use and not violate copyrights can be challenging. Thus, beginning to become my own source of photographs and illustrations.

A friend and business partner (also a professional photographer, Circe Denyer) suggested I get a camera that can take professional-quality photos.  I acquired a Panasonic point-and-shoot camera with a high-quality lens – a LUMIX lens.  Less than a year later, I invested in a Nikon D300. Today I have two Nikons; one has a 400 MM lens, the other 600 MM!   Subsequently, I’ve taken such quality and caliber photos to have images accepted for stock photography sites. In fact, some of my photos have been recommended for licensing by Getty.   

In the last 2  years, thanks to covid, I have become enamored with creating posters from graphic assets I purchased from various sites.  It is so much fun, I love it, and I actually make money, too!

If you are a blogger, professional speaker, or trainer needing images for your presentation, or a family/friend wishing to create a meaningful message for someone you care about,  you may wish to invest in high-quality images that are not costly and are legally yours to use.  Of course, you can also acquire a good camera and take your own photos too.
